As women, we often live our lives wearing so many different hats. We're moms, wives, employees, business owners, friends, daughters, volunteers, caregivers, and this list goes on! At times we hit those moments in our lives where we're tired, drained, and we find ourselves pouring from an empty cup. One valuable lesson I've learned through life experiences is how to fill my cup, so that I can be the best version of myself for me and others. And you can too!
Here's how I started...
1. Create a list of what makes you happy. This list can include hobbies, food/drinks, people, places, experiences, etc. These are the things that bring you the most joy!
Here are a few of mine to give you an idea :-)
Coffee
Beaches (any body of water)
Devotional time with God
Burn bootcamp
Trader Joe's
Avocado toast
Girl time
Hosting people
Creating memories with family
Date night
Perfume
Candles
Fuzzy socks
Women's Basketball
Yellow
2. Put a few of these things on your calendar over the next 30 days. For example, I listed the color yellow. That color just makes me happy. I will go to the nail salon and pick yellow for my nails/toes, and it brings me joy every single time!
3. Access how you feel during these times. Take the time to check in with yourself by journaling, creating content, or telling your bestie about this journey of being intentional with filling your cup.
4. Repeat! Make it an ongoing journey. You have to be intentional with committing to this because it doesn't always come naturally for us. We are often consumed with taking care of others' emotional, mental, and physical needs.
Before you know it, you'll find yourself exploring more and finding new ways to fill your cup. This will help start a beautiful journey for YOU that will spill over to the ones you love. When your cup is full, those attached to you will benefit even more!
Love this. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
This is very practical! Thank you for this ❤️
